We are in a new season, phase, stage, age - but that doesn't mean we have to feel tired, gain weight or feel older.
We don't have to struggle, suffer, keep doing the same things if it's making us unhealthy and unhappy.
Review time, see what's not working, what you don't want, create the changes you want.
Rediscover those things that helped us maintain a healthy body and weight, that we enjoyed doing and add in more goodness and fun.
Why??? Because getting older does not mean we stop moving. In fact it's even more important, that we keep what we have, stay strong and mobile, forever.
And I know one of the biggest concerns for most women in menopause is their gain weight, the tummy fat which can be hard to get rid of.
Because we have slowed down, stopped doing the things that kept us healthy, stopped prioritising our health, often we feel a lack of confidence, disliking our body or parts of.
But we forget it's been a slow ride, we've slowly changed those things that we used to do that kept us healthy and happy.
Time to rediscover those things that helped us maintain, those things that kept us healthy,
I want to share 5 big reasons you may feel tired, older, gaining weight, but it's not just menopause or age; (that means we can help ourselves)
We lose muscle mass as we get older, so our metabolism and the food we eat for fuel, is effected.
We become less active, less likely to exercise in ways that support maintaining healthy weight.
Stress effects balance of estrogen - can effect how our body deals with sugar, stress, sleep, creating the perfect storm, with insulin and cortisol hormones, fat cells, adrenals due working to balance the best they can despite us.
Our sleep can be affected by our hormones, stress and so there for we have higher cortisol and insulin hormones that create insulin resistance and increased fat stores
Our busy lifestyles, create poor habits, around how we eat, trading less nutritious meals to suit schedules, skipping meals, eating take away, regular alcohol drinks, mixes and sugary drinks, foods as we chase the energy hits
So here's the truth - we can control many aspects of our health, every day, the food we eat, the way we move our body, the rest we choose to give ourselves, how we think, what we believe.
And we have alot of control over our health habits, most changes are totally free to do.
One of the benefits of getting older is we get wiser, we start focusing on what matters to us.
We value our time, energy and health way more than when we were younger.
Awareness is key to begin tweaking, reviewing the patterns we've created, repeatable and obvious to the outsider.
Question - where can we improve the way we look after ourselves?
How would we like to feel in our day?
What is getting in the way of taking care of ourselves, start there.
My help is to identify and call it out, so you can resolve that thing, so you feel good in your body, as well as guide you to your easiest next steps.
Tip# We don't have to change everything at once, just pick one thing.
Just because we are getting older doesn't mean we have to feel older or struggle with weight gain, it's not always a menopause thing, an age thing, it's an activity thing.
