Stretching is good, but Yin Yoga is a restorative and renewing practise, fully supporting the body with props and peace, stillness for the body.
It's a whole new level of amazing
Why you need to stop and let go of tension
1. Decreases muscle stiffness and lengthens the body, alignment and increases range of motion.
2. Helps relieve aches and pains, pre and post workouts.
3. Stretching the muscles of the lower back, shoulders and chest helps keep your back in alignment and balances the muscles, improves your posture.
4. Helps reduce or manage stress.
5. Reduces muscular tension and enhances muscular relaxation. Chronically tense muscles tend to cut off their own circulation, resulting in a lack of oxygen and essential nutrients. Stretching allows your muscles to relax.
6. Promotes circulation. Stretching increases blood supply to your muscles and joints, which allows for greater nutrient transportation and improves the circulation of blood through your entire body.
7.Flexibility in the hamstrings, hip flexors and muscles attached to the pelvis relieves stress on the lumbar spine, which in turn reduces your risk of low-back pain.
We are not stiff because we don't stretch, we are stiff because our connective tissue contracts from inactivity, poor posture, not enough lubrication in the joints - these moves will lengthen the body, restore mobility and calm the nervous system.
Follow and create your own Yin Yoga bliss and peace at home. By holding shapes and poses, longer, istening to the body, relaxing, releasing tension, creating space in the connective tissue, fascia, joints, ligaments. Yin Yoga is about letting go, not being strong. Let gravity and body weight do the work for you. 2 Stretching cards
